At least ONE thing is free in NYC

Hey Hey!!

I'm sitting here at the NYC Public Library attaining a free 45 minute session! NICE! SO the architecture here is astounding; tall marble walls and floors opening to grand staircases and then to expansive ceilings with intricate designs, paintings and character. There are three floors I believe.

So our first week of work went really well. We navigated our way to different elementary/high schools sketching murals for the big serve day this coming saturday. We only had one day at each school so we had to bust it out...and some of the spaces they wanted murals were huge. But we did it and hopefully they turn out at least a little like what we intend. ;)

I've been trying to see and do a lot while being here. I have yet to see a show, which I am going to try and 'rush' a Wicked performance. We've definitely walked our fair share although the unlimited subway use is soooo nice. GOSH, it's amazing how many people live here...and the pace in which they live. So many people on the subway, streets, buildings, conversations buzzing, cash registers clinging, drinks a'chuggin, sandwiches, kabobs, hot dawgs, and gyros being gulped down (as it's musingly referred to as street meat). Wow! People do everything fast here. And there is always something to do! Although we did find that pretty much all the neighborhoods look the same after about 7pm when some local shops start closing down. The real fun is seeing them in the day, like Little Italy and Chinatown when the vendors are selling and cutzie shops are open.

On a more philosophical note, I've felt a beautiful human spirit here. There is soo much diversity and coexistance at the same time and I really respect that a lot. I really support interdependence like that. We are all we got.

Anyway, it's a nice day today so I think I'm gonna go wander in Central Park.

Love and hugs to everyone!
