So my team arrived back 'home' to Perry Point this evening. We left Jackson, Mississippi after training this week and arrived in Knoxville, TN yesterday. We made the 10 hour trek through the beautiful greenery of Tennessee and Virginia today.
We leave tomorrow (Sunday) for our first project stint at the Grove Point Girl Scout Camp, about an hour from Perry Point on the east side of the Chesapeake Bay. We will be there for two weeks before heading to YMCA Camp Letts outside of Annapolis, MD. Then we will finish our project at Trailblazer Camp in Montague, New Jersey...in the northern corner of the state. At each of the camps we will be doing trail maintenance, building repairs, painting, building fire pits and clearing areas of brush and branches. We're hoping to get some inside environmental tips from our mountain man leader Dan! :)
I probably won't have easy access to the internet this next project but I will post updates as much as possible!
It's in the mid-high sixties and its 9 o'clock at night! It's beautiful spring camping weather here in Maryland. :):)
