Hello from Annapolis! Currently my team is working here at a YMCA camp about 20 minutes outside of cute, little, ole' Naptown!! The downtown area is soo cute. Brick streets, cute shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, and old east coast buildings...not to mention the Navy influence in this city. There are men and women in their prestigous white uniforms everywhere!
So for our work we've been painting some rustic cabins which we also live in. We're painting so much it looks like I got in a paint fight in my uniform...I am by far the messiest of my team! I don't know how that really happened. So careless... :)
So we aren't working with the kids at all, just doing maintenance and maybe some environmental work next week...we'll see.
It's so nice to interact with other people besides the team. The staff and camp counselors are all sooo nice and inviting. Many of them are from Australia and New Zealand...guaranteed nice people!;)
I really wanted to upload some pictures of this beautiful place but this computer I'm on doesn't have hook ups. It's been rainy the last few days, only making it more super green here. The camp is on a penisula with plenty to do; canoeing, high ropes course, paintball, horseback riding,...we haven't had the opportunity to do any of the fun things yet but soon we hope...
We leave here on May 30th enroute to our next camp assignment: Trailblazers Camp in Montague, New Jersey, which is in the north corner of the state. Bears have been sighted there! AHHHHH!
I'm excited to come home in a week! I need a break from my team. They're great but I need some home lovin'!
Love and hugs sent your way!!!
-Becca
