Delayed in Philly but here at last...

I spent the night in Philly...so my adventure began early. It was quite fun actually. They gave me 3 meal vouhers and a one night stay at the Ramada Inn. I was able to do some sightseeing in Philly before my flight departed at 4pm on Friday.
Anyhow, I am here. It is 6:30pm on Saturday here in Bayreuth, Germany where Beth and I will be until Monday.
When Helga and Jürgen (german family) picked me along with Beth up from the airport at 6am we immediately made our way to a quaint town called Würzburg. It had beautiful little cafes and alleys along with a beautiful capela (chapel) on the hill and a spectacular castle build into the vineyard covered hillsides. We walked along the river trail and meandered our way thru the city. They decided that another town worth seeing on the way back to Bayreuth was Bamberg so we hoped in the car and drove an hour to Bamberg...home of the SmokeyBeer. This town was a little touristy but very cute. Houses lined the river running thru the city with colorful plants on the window sills and canoes tied to their personal docks. We had lunch at an outdoor cafe and went to see the lil church on the hill. They were setting up for a German rock band to be performing tonight in the square so we heard them play a few tester songs.
Now we're back in Bayreuth and we're all pretty tired. I think we will go to bed early. Tomorrow we might visit an old concentration camp or visit a neighboring town. On Monday afternoon Beth and I will make our way to Heidelburg (western Germany) enroute to Mulhouse, France.
I'll keep you updated when I can.

Love and hugs!
Becca
