Hey yall!
Im in Paris now! Krista and I saw Beth away at the train station yesterday as she was flying home from Frankfurt. :( Krista and I took a high speed train here (TGV) but it didnt feel all that fast ;)
So we we wandered around a bit and then went to a dinner theater last night. It was like something from Broadway or Las Vegas. IT was very good but a lil on the cabaret side (topless women...) The dinner, wine and champagne were great!!
Today I wait until sophy gets here! Her plane is shortly delayed.
The past few days have just been great...full and tiring. Lots of walking. Took a train to Nancy (saw the famous Art Nuveau museum) Very neat.
Last week with the french families was more than could be expected, (we stayed with two beautiful families) they were so hospitable and met our every need. They give french people a new name in my book.
Did I mention we went wine tasting in the Alsace region (eastern border area) and we stopped at this one place and the guy took us thru a sampling of 17 wines!! He was very knowledgable about the wines and the region and a very personable guy who spoke at least 3 languages.
The parks are beautiful to sit and people watch over some tasty gelatto! I have thoroughly enjoyed that.
We have been eating traditional Alascian meals, yummy yummy.
But now new regions are beckoning. I cant wait to open the next present. ( Beth and I have been saying that each new day is like opening a new present) :)
I will try and find an internet cafe in Brussels or Brugge.
Love you all.
She looked at me, but she barely looked at me
Her soul barely made connection
These trains bring many faces
Different poeple, going different places
The smell of sweat, earned working hard at the office, rushing to catch the rush hour commuter train home
Well change to the left, switch back hard to the right
We change tracks 4 times before we reach home
nestled in the flat lands of the thick bavarian forest
(some thoughts while on a train to heidelberg)
