Amidst the Swiss Alps

Hello out there!
Sophy and I have made a whirlwind tour of France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
We spent one night in Brugge, Belgium after 1 nights stay in crowded Paris. Brugge was so adorable, it felt like it was our own lil village, no one was out and about as we arrived that evening. We had some dinner at the restaurant below our hostel. (we`ve noticed that all of our hostels have been above restaurants and bars, so it can get loud at times)
We had famous Belgian cherry beer and met some travelors from Chile, Argentina and Australia. We toured the town for a little while before making our trek to Amsterdam on Thursday evening. We booked our hostel last minute so when we arrived it was conveniently located near the train station but in an area speckled with "coffee shops" and sex shops. Kinda weird but part of the experience I guess. We wandered around the streets that night and purposely went down the Red Light District. Very disturbing might I add. (another story for that). I couldn`t believe this really was going on; men were leaving right in front of us as their services were finished , women posing...normal women (moms, college students with glasses, older women...) argh! Im not sorry I saw what I saw...it was eye opening.
We wanted a different perspective of Holland so we went to the country side yesterday, about 30 minutes outside of Amsterdam. We saw a wooden clog making factory, cheese factory, walked along a sheep farm and saw a real DUTCH WINDMILL!! We also visited the Anne Frank house for about an hour before we left (could have stayed there longer, very interesting!)
We took an overnight train from Amsterdam to Zurich last night. We reserved a couchette, sleeping with 4 other people in stacked bunk beds. A very memorable experience. We made friends with our roomates, one couple from Holland taking a bike tour thru tuscany. really funny people.
We spent a few hours in Zurich before coming to Luzern...a beautiful lake community in the Alps. We will be here for 2 nigths, we want to slow down a bit.
We are both having a great time and things are working out great with getting reservations and making our train times. Our packs are heavy but thats our fault! We are both having pretty bad allergies but nothing benedrill cant cure!
We are off to Cinque Terra (5 villages) in Italy near Genova next.

God is so attentive and gracious.
Love and hugs
