The fresh pine scent...

Billows in the open windows. I'm in Big Bear, my home. A light summer rain dusted the mountain town early this morning and now I wake up to freshness.
I think of the Lakota Native American saying, "Keep your children close to nature, for when man's heart becomes hard towards nature, his heart also becomes hard towards man."

Keeping close to nature, getting our hands enveloped in her soil, I feel causes the human heart to dream again, to re-imaginate our minds. I think a lot of our society has lost their core imagination. Yes, we have taken up cyber-space and the digital frontier, yet our adoration for nature's simplistic beauty has somewhat left the building.
