Bar Harbor, Maine

Wicked nice coastline. Wicked is such a common word among the Maine-inites! Like that of really, super or great. It's so beautiful here. The air is fresh, varied species of trees line the coast and blanket the forests. Very lush. There are lobster stands all over..and it's kinda pricey. I'm gonna splurge and get a lobster roll and sip some beer today.
This roadtrip has been so great. We've managed to keep it very inexpensive. We're staying with my friends family along the way and in between pitching a tent wherever is free..and safe. A few nights ago, as night was falling in and we were finishing up dinner we were throwing ideas around as what we were going to do for lodging. We came to the conclusion that we'd just pick a nice looking church and camp on their lawn...and we did. St. Elizabeth Ann Catholic Church in Fyreburg, Maine was our home for the night. We pitched the tent with the help of our car headlights and snuggled in for the night. At 6:30am we were a little nervous to see a visitor as we were packing up our tent, she was there to cook breakfast for the rotary club that morning. She invited us in for coffee and to use the bathrooms (we were just planning on going to the 7-11 down the street to wash up) and we ended up staying for breakfast and were honorary guests of the Rotary Meeting! It was a nice experience that I won't soon forget. The people were so appreciative of the work we do with AmeriCorps.
The four of us are heading back down the coast tomorrow, where we hope to stop in Cape Cod, then make our way to Providence, RI and on to NYC for a night or two. We have to be back at Perry Point on Sunday evening.

Things are going well. Loving the sites, enjoying the company...and saving money!! :)

Love love love love and peace peace peace
