I got my first assignment...!!!!

Saturday we awoke to a sewage leak in our basement. The plumbers came out and looked at it and later requested that we not use the water. So we had to move out temporarily...and be split up, like children being separated by the CPS! Okay, not that bad, but when we locked up the house that night, with our overnight bags in tow, going to separate houses for the night....we were all sad and feeling a little orphan-like. We're still at our respective houses and it feels kind of intrusive...each house already has their set dynamic so I feel like I'm imposing. We all love our house, amidst it being old and run down. Anyway, so we wait for the repairs....

On Saturday I sauntered around Perryville with a few people. It was in the high 50's I believe, very nice out. Then on Sunday...BAMM! The cold front hit. It was like 12 degrees on Sunday when some people from my team and I decided to go to Baltimore for the day, so our team leader drove us. It was flippin' cold!!! But so beautiful. The inner harbor in B-town is very nice and clean and tourist friendly. Here is a pic:

We went to Hard Rock cafe, intended to go to the Body Works exhibit but the line was too long so instead we went to the Visionary Art Museum...BEST CHOICE! This museum is filled with eclectic art pieces; glass, rocks, shiny things, dull things... But they featured an amazing exhibit on world religions; SO impactful and touching! Awwww! They had postcards with a short blurp on people's 'secrets' concerning god, religion, choices, sexuality, etc...so raw and full of perspective! I didn't try crab cakes this time around but there will be many more trips to B-town!

So last night at a team gathering our first assignment was revealed!!! We're going to New Orleans and working with Habitat for Humanity and we will be staying at Camp Hope. We will be down there for 8 weeks! We board the vans and take off on March 7th! YES YES!! WOO HOOOO!!!

I got to the computer lab and realized I forgot my camera so I will upload pics from my weekend later...

Love love and hugs!
