Stirred hearts...or just generation Y?

To be socially active, seeking counter-cultural movements and self enriching experiences
To not get hung up on the money, power or fame of a position; rather zeroing in on contentment, happiness and life satisfaction

Is this my generation, or is this just me? I think it's a little of both. I feel I have been priviledged to interact with many folks that share these same values. I have parents that support me 100% in whatever I choose to do with this life.
But also, I am thinking that my passion for adventure is due in part to the generation in which I belong. I see many young twenty-somethings fed up with the 'normal', 'expected' way of doing things. People who are up for a challenge, a leap of faith...

My embarkment takes me to Maryland. I will be partnering with the National Civilian Conservation Corp, a program with AmeriCorp. My team will be made up of 15-20 members between the ages of 18 and 24. We will be going out on different service projects in surrounding communities on the East Coast, doing conservation work, diaster relief, after school programs/tutoring, and other social services.

I am so excited to go. I am saddened to leave my great niche I've found. I know all good things work out for the good so I go with eager anticipation.
